The bottom knife in this 1983 heritage set is an 8801 based knife.
Smooth red bones
Schrade Cut Cos!
Charlie, that one leaves me speechless!! Are you interested in a trade? I have a perfectly good left arm I could do without Maybe throw in a couple of kids??
Here’s one gifted to me by the resurrector of this thread. I’ll throw more in later but a 14 hour day kicked my tail....
I've got kids and arms a-plenty, but thanks for your comments @315!!!
Great additions, fellas! Since all my previous posts got "bucketed" I'll post some new ones.
Schrade built Parker-Frost Bison
Heritage red bone
Schrade Walden 881s
Schrade Walden 8OT
Schrade Walden 885UH
I’ll throw a few limited edition knives out tonight...
Some of my Schrade 8OT pocketknives and a "same frame" Schrade USA pocketknife. An everyday Old Timer that I have used for EDC in the past and still carry from time to time when I want a bigger Stockman than I normally carry (MED STOCKMAN). The red bone is a mystery - not an EOD knife but not a Heritage knife either - no one has ever been able to identify the era for me, still NIB the tan/black box it came in. A still in the plastic tube, yellow Delrin handled S-W 881Y that is a re-issue from the 100th year - one of Schrade's last and the knife that got me started as a knife collector (instead of the knife accumulator I've always been). OH
Bruce, I have another variant similar to your smooth red bone, which is a Heritage frame and shield, with an 8OT blade in green bone.
Tonight’s additions, a regular ol Old Timer 8OT and a Schrade Walden 881.
Nice pair Jim! I love those match pulls.
Thanks Paul, I do too! I really like the slimness of the 881, it just feels really good in the hand.
I only have an offshore made Schrade family stockman, so I'll shut up.
Sounds like an excuse to do a little shopping
Here’s a couple in stainless for the weekend.
Here’s a couple of cousins. They have the same name but they’re a little rough around the edges(I know, I’ve used that line before)
....and some third cousins, who changed their name and only show up occasionally...
I found this picture from 2008. Surprised how many 8's I had putting them together for one shot.
Rusty, great collection. I can’t get the far right one to zoom in enough to clearly see it. Does it have bone handles?
