The Greatest Viking Battle Sword Of All Time!!! . . . The Busse Viking Long Serpent Pics Are Here!!!

Why is it called The Viking Long Serpent?

The Ormen Lange, also known as the "Long Serpent", was a legendary Busse Viking Longship built for King Olav Tryggvason.

It was the most powerful Viking Longship of all time!

Our Viking Heritage . . . The Busse Viking Warship

The Busse class longships were the most prestigious Viking warships.
The Busse was large, with sizes up to 50 meters, or approximately 160 feet in length.
Fitted with both sails and oars, a Busse could have up to 35 pairs of oars, allowing it to travel with speed, utilizing any propulsion method.

The Busse was capable of carrying a large cargo, which was beneficial on large-scale raids, where the Vikings would look to take as much treasure home as possible.
The Busse was thought to have carried a crew of around 80 Vikings.
The scale and size of the Busse also allowed the Viking raids to travel further afield.
The larger cargo holds meant the journeys across the oceans would be feasible compared to the smaller ship classes.

The design and balance make this my favorite sword of all time!

Let's Drink!

Woof! That must have cost a Vikings hoard!

It would be really awesome to actually see pictures of a lot of the handle options! This will be expensive - and everyone wants to buy the right one for themselfs!
Also this calls for a "nuclear" Option that one can select - so actually a special edition handle. Could be Material, colour, or both.
Maybe a custom Shop Version as Well?
Questions questions....

Will there be a special edition for HOGs?
This thing is going to replace the Gladius as the ultimate Busse tool for the next 10-15 years! If you dont get one you will regret it forever!

My only concern is what appears to be the raised tang extending past the scales. Looks similar to the Jackhammer 10 and the Forefather Bowie. I think that would transfer a lot more shock into the hand when striking with the sword. If that is the case, I would prefer it flush. But if the handle is not too beefy I guess I could leather wrap it.

What are the payment options of non-US purchases? Still 1.00 deposit and pay in full prior to delivery or has something changed?

Just a rough measurement. Based on the blade width at the hilt being 2". Looks like 11.25 x 2.0" units. So my guess would be a 22-23" blade. If the picture angle is off, it could be a 20" on the small end and 24" blade on the larger end?

That's basically how I got my answer in edit #3 earlier.

Once I knew what the width at the hilt was (2"), I literally measured the picture on my screen.

My OAL measured 499mm, and 2"=35mm. Therefore, 17.5mm = 1". Using those numbers, my OAL is 28.5" (499/17.5), with a ~22 1/4" blade (390/17.5).

It could be slightly shorter than these estimates due to the foreshortening effect of the photo angle (2" only equals exactly 2" at the point measured at the hilt cross-section).
