What do you think of it?

My opinion is it costs way to much for just the cool handle. That being said, I still want one. Pluses are that the aluminum handle wont hold moisture and oil directly on the tang of the 1095 cro-van blade causing it to rust, which is one thing that I DISPISE about stacked leather handles. You could always just go with a Kraton handled kabar.. I think that for the price of the knife, kabar could have used a Damascus steel on these. For the price you could have a Damascus knife blade custom made just like the USMC with a Micarta handle as opposed to the 1095.. Just sayin'.

be nice if a little attention was given to the bade as well. looks like a new handle was bolted onto a USMC

Not for the amount of money being asked. I could get over ten regular USMCs for that amount of money.

$1,000! Unless there's a hefty discount somewhere!

Oh ok, I see why it's so much. The fancy leather sheath and the Gerstner chest that comes with it.
