The Official Lanyard Thread

Hey lanyard folks. Never been big into tying anything onto my knives but I am trying out a leather lanyard on my Sebenza 25. One concern is the blade hitting the lanyard, its not cutting into it yet but you can definitely see a mark from where it is hitting and rubbing.

I've read through some of the thread and see that on the Zaan, 25 and Inkosi that this is pretty well documented. My question is: has the blade cut through any of y'all's lanyards yet? Do I need to worry? Replace the lanyard after a while?

If you go back to Post 188, I talked about this a little and added a couple pics. While the blade may touch the lanyard some on several of my knives, I've not encountered any significant damage to the cord nor interference with the closing of the blade.

So I just tied this up this sebenza style snake knot lanyard this morning with some army ACU colored 550 paracord. Without a bead, I think 6 knots is the perfect length and it doesnt get in the way of the blade.

Simple one here on my honey badger flipper. The rings are 2 different size spacers from bicycle chains. Being deep pocket carry the lanyard really helps to get the knife out specially when my hands are dirty.

I just made a snake knot fob for my new Spyderco Ladybug. Turns a 2.5-finger grip (as designed -- and surprisingly comfortable!) into a full 4-finger grip.

I like simple. For me, the lanyard is another option to grab when pulling the knife out of my pocket, and something to help find the knife if I drop it in the grass.

It's my first day carrying it. I love it so far. Good size and weight for my hand. Opens smoothly. Fit and finish are excellent.
