Did it come with a little nylon or leather sheath or did you have to buy one separately? I'm talking about the early ones, like early 90's, late 80's?
Also, does anyone know of a source for the Mini sheath (I think they were nylon?)

I have an original Leatherman mini from around '87 and it came with a nylon sheath. FWIW I have an original Leatherman multi-tool from the early 80's and it has a leather sheath.

I have a mini from the late 90s I believe & it came with a cordura sheath. GC

I have one of the originals sold by U.S. Cavalry, bought early eighties. They were sold with a lifetime warranty and a leather sheath. Still have it.
This one isn't mine, but they are exactly the same. Credit to https://www.etsy.com/listing/209258565/vintage-1980s-the-original-leatherman

Old School baby. This was their only model.

This is actually the original Leatherman Tool, later called the PST (Personal Survival Tool) produced from 1983-2004. The Mini-tool was another model in which the handles themselves were hinged to fold into a smaller unit. It was in production 1986-2004.

I had no clue that leatherman made the mi I tool for that long, I thought it was just in the 90's.
