The Pathfinder Club - Members Only!

Thirty ++ years ago I fell in love with the Buck D Guard Bowie’s but couldn’t afford one. I wrote to Buck and they sent me some old catalog pages showing them. 3 kids 5 grandkids 4 states and 5 houses through all the moves about the only thing I kept from 35 years ago is, you guessed it, the catalog pages. Somehow they went through every move.

J JAxe in you post you mention the aluminum vs brass fittings. It’s not just the looks that are different. The weight and balance are different too.

A small knife with brass pommel is handle heavy. On a larger knife the brass pommel counterbalances the weight of the blade. But makes an already heavy knife heavier.

I prefer the aluminum in most cases

thanks that was exactly the type of info I was looking for in a EDC fixed blade

Found this thread. Forgot about this threat. Bought a 105. Re-found this thread. Can I join the club now too?

I think these two will make a great traditional combo...

Hello Benny, welcome to the Pathfinder Club and to BladeForums! Glad you re-found us. Looks like we need to do more marketing. I'll look into a Super Bowl ad. :D You have two super knives that have been proven over and over in performance and practicality. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone!

I forgot my typical hunting knife last year on a deer hunting trip and the 112 served me well in both field dressing skinning, and even butchering. I bought the 105 hoping it will do well with quartering and deboning.

I read these threads and decide I have to have it. First it was a 119 thread now this. I ordered a 105 off eBay yesterday.

This is probably a good time to revisit the Club's Terms & Conditions. :D

Pathfinder Club Terms & Conditions: Members are automatically enrolled in club by providing visual proof or by simply claiming ownership of one or more Buck 105 Pathfinder knives. Memberships are transferable and are valid until expiration of knife or owner, whichever comes first. Club is not responsible for accidental finger lacerations, bandage reimbursements, unplanned emergency room expenses, loss of arm hair, disposal of excessive wood shavings, spousal eyebrow raising due to multiple Pathfinder purchases, or loss of interest in other knives due to exceptional Pathfinder performance.

So I don’t have to have a 105 in my possession just on order quality’s for membership? Sing me up
First of all, if I "sing" to you, we're gonna lose members. :D Secondly, you suggested to not put your name on the list until you receive the knife, so I was just waiting until it arrives safe and sound. It is true, you do not need to post a photo of your knife to join. Your word is good enough for me.

I’ve never seen a club that was so easy to join. Lol!

true, can just ignore that is says "Members Only!" in the title.:D

Okay, enough from the peanut gallery or I'll promote you to officers and put you to work. :p
