Great post. Kinda how I felt about the one I lost on the deer hunt. I'd had that knife since I was 11 or 12 years old and it accompanied me on many woods adventures.

Hope your replacement 105 somewhat fills the void and you make happy memories with it on future adventures. :)

TAH, great picture of you and your Dad out adventuring. I always loved the adventures my Dad took us on. I have a great memory of Dad, me, and my younger brother Mike hiking alongside the railroad track out into the country from our town. My Dad had his Imperial M4 bayonet that served as his outdoorsman knife and he had an aluminum can, water, and drink mix. We stopped in the woods on the side of the railroad and boiled water and made the drink mix - I was about 8, Mike was about 6 - what an adventure that was in my mind. I have the bayonet and I still have my Dad (who isn’t in great shape now) but lost my brother Mike about eight years ago. But I have the memory and it is wonderful. OH

Thanks for sharing your childhood memory, OH. The smallest outings are a big deal when you are young. Very sorry to hear about your brother's passing. That's rough. Sounds like you had some good adventures together. My father is a healthy 92 and only stopped riding our horses about 5 years ago. Mom passed 3 years ago. They were married 63 years. Dad wasn't really into knives, but for some reason, he bought me Bucks. My first three "real" knives were a 309, 112, and 105. I guess he is directly responsible for the Buck fever I have today. :)

I took this photo a few years ago and found it again in my Imgur account. It's of my 105 and a book -- both gifts from my father in the mid 70s. The old photograph is from our first trip hunting down ghost towns in Colorado in 1978 -- the adventure of a lifetime to a 17 year-old kid. The 105 is on my belt in the photograph. I'm feeling a little nostalgic tonight, so I thought I would post it.

Does anyone know when they flipped BUCK around 180° and added the model # and U.S.A. on the third line? Mine don't have extra lines or nothin.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Hi Leon,

Great looking knife! Love those old ones. I believe your knife was made in 1967 due to the stamp having that dot next to the "K" in BUCK. Hopefully, someone will come along with more information.

Seeing this back in New Posts over the past few days has reminded me that I never dug mine out for a pic. Maybe after my tea.

First post but we have 4 in the family, one vintage and three new(er). One of my favorite Buck fixed blades.

Welcome to the Pathfinder Club and BladeForums, K1500! I'm personally honored that you chose this thread for your first post. Not required, but feel free to post a "family" photo of your 105s. Hope you visit the Buck Forum frequently. Best forum on the internet, although the ladies over on the Turquoise Jewelry Forum are pretty nice. Okay, so I have another side to me. :D

Thanks for the welcome. Buck has always treated me well in my uses. I’ve got the 119 and 120 as well as several 110’s. I sent a few back for the spa treatment and a blade replacement on one, Buck did a great job. I am also a fan of Spyderco (can I say that in this sub-forum?) as their knives have always worked well for me.
