I know the movie gadget knife from "The Saint" starring Val Kilmer as Simon Templar has been discussed here from time-to-time....

I just happen to own one of the six knives that were made for the film! The one I have was the one Kilmer used to cut his head and thus gain access to Elizabeth Shue's apartment and her notes. * The piece was made as a "fixed blade" with a hollow tube center that transferred the fake blood up tubes through a small slit in the knife blade. It is made of metal and would be the correct demensions of the other models that were used in various capacities (blow torch; compass; camera; etc.)

I am a new member of this Forum and was hoping someone might offer some assistance and ideas in making a working replica of the piece.

Thank You.

The handle material looks like a filed down computer heatsink.

Of course if you really want one that you can use, you could probably get the handles cnc machined. From there you just have to pick a lock if you want a locking folder. Linerlock would fit with the design since both sides have scales. I suppose you could do a framelock, but you'd have to have a scale covering the framelock which makes it a very fat linerlock IMO.

You could also just leave it as a slipjoint, which would look the most accurate since the prop knife has no visible locking mechanism. A more expensive route might be to consider a button lock if you have to have a locking blade.

Brian Tighe makes buttonlocks. If you have the money, I'm sure he can work with you.

Thank You.

Can you tell me the word that is on the crest of the knife and possibly it's meaning?
