Hello all, great to be a part of this forum! I've been a fixed blade buying frenzy! Within the past month i bought a CRKT N.E.C.K that i belt carry for work, and a Boker CLB neck knife great knife for pocket also. Then today, i said i want something big for belt carry as well so i went and bought cold steels Counter Tac I, mainly for a big defense knife. I'm not going to take it to work and cut open boxes with it etc. So it'll be hidden all day, what is your thoughts on the Cold Steel Counter Tac I knife? I also really factored in the sheath it comes with, seems like it'll ride high on my belt line for concealibilty. Lastly, i'm a big fan of fixed blades now, my folders stay in my closet now.

i hope i made a good $62 investment. Looking forward to reading some comments.

Yeah... this will get moved most ricky tick...... I'm thinkin you should have posted this in general or prac-tac.

This forum is for traditional slip-joint and lock back pocket knives dude..... the new liner locks and tactical knives should go in another sub forum.

Oh, and welcome to Bladeforums...... the mods should cut ya some slack since your new here, but you should surf the other boards and try to keep in line with the content on each different sub-forum.

Yes Mr. Glock,
You should have posted in General Knife or Prac tac maybe. Us traditional guys keep our slipjoints in our back pockets more than in our closet.;) To each his own. If you like the knife, your $62 was well spent.

However,
Welcome to Bladeforums!

Can we interest you in a Case Swayback Gent with Chestnut bone and CV steel? You may decide to fold once again.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

The Counter Tac looks OK, but definitely keep it out of sight in LA. :)
Check out our Practical Tactical and Knife Laws forums, too.

I moved this from Traditional to General Knife.

i have a countertac 2, they are well made and arent too expensive

they have some nice push daggers as well for similar prices, the safe maker 2 is a real nice piece as well

these type blades are decent for certain emergencys however it's good to use decretin in showing to friends. i'm a carpet cleaner & yrs. ago i was carrying a spyderco police as a user in my work, after using these types for yrs. , i did'nt give it a 1st thought in whipping it out to scrape gum or cut a snag but some of my middle class customers eyes got big.the point being when something becomes a daily habit [like keys & wallet] you do'nt realize the reaction when you pop it out.welcome to a great bunch of guys & girls.

i almost bought the Counter Tac II, in my search for the right dagger, but i just couldn't get over the fact that the blade is only ground on one side. if that doesn't bother you, i can't see anythingelse wrong with the Counter Tac's

Wonderful review, by the last picture it seems like the knife will be a breeze to carry. Also, this kind of knife will not be used as my work knife, no way in hell would i pull this out to open up a box, or cut some plastic wrapping with.

i have no clue what you are talking about, aslong it will cut or stab that is fine? Serious side though i'm reading about what your'e talking about on coldsteel's web site. Atually bought it on amazon $52 shipped.

I just got it in! Very satisfied with the knife, very compact actually, glad i went with the I, instead of the II. Great sheath, IWB works great also!

I carried the 2 version inverted on my boot for several months. You can't go wrong with a fixed blade from Cold Steel. I just recently got some oooold school CS nasties. Urban Shiv and Urban Pal.

The punch knife has a sheath that is part wallet, having a pocket behind the knife for folded money. I'm thinking this would be for putting in the pocket of a suit jacket or blazer on a night on the town. I might have kydex made for it. The boot sheath carries nicely, clipped inside my jump boots.
