Thoughts on Nuclayer Fusion?

Hello friends! I've been getting interested in mucking around with some hobbyist home forging to make damascus steel. As I've been researching and learning the processes, I've come across a product called Nuclayer Fusion sold on Jantz that is advertised as an alternative to tack welding your stack of steel. There's not much on the internet/Youtube/etc. that I could find about this product or the quality of damascus made using this stuff so I was wondering if anyone here has used it and what your opinion is of it and any tips/tricks you learned while using it. TIA!

I've never heard of that stuff before. This morning I watched a couple of videos and it looks slick the way it works on the video. I'd sure like to try some, but at $32 plus $12 shipping I'll hold off for now. I'll be following this thread to read about other folks comments.

Hard to find any info. Every time I try and go to the Nuclayer website I get a warning about "no certificate" and to not go there. Does anyone else get this?

Does anyone have a pointer to the directions/ingredients/msds? Thanks!

Looks interesting.
From what I can find, it sort-of glues the strips of metal together strongly. You apply it in a liberal layer along with water and clamp the bars together. Cure it with heat at 300°F and then clay the entire billet. It makes the billet hold together, pre-fuses the layers, and eliminates the need to hand-set the billet before going to the power hammer.
I'll have to order some from Jantz (Pop's doesn't have it yet) and give it a try. I'll experiment with by hand forging only, using only a power hammer, and only a press.

Fitzo - I get those warnings, too. I didn't go to their site. I got my info from Jantz an online videos.

I get those warnings too when I try to access the site. The product sounds really cool and I would hope it's not a fluke if Jantz is selling it but the lack of available information and actual user results is definitely a mental hurdle for me. Stacy - please share your results if you get a chance to use it. I've lurked on the forums for a while and seen your work; I definitely would trust your opinion and expertise and your posts are always informative and helpful.

I've used nuclayers clay and anti scale products and visited his website the website might just have a self signed cert due to being self hosted or just not up to date with the certificates I think his contact info is listed on the site and could be contacted.

as for the hamon clay and anti scale compound they work wonderfully easy to use and great results so I imagine the same would be true for the welding compound that your looking at
