Throwing alternatives

I admit I havn't done any throwing for some time, but I used to be pretty active.
Do any of you guys use "alternative" throwing weapons? The most common would probably be the screwdriver-a good Sears craftsman is both durable and inexpensive, if not aestheticaly pleasing. ( no Virginia, not your electric..) I've heard of folks using wood chisels as well.
In one of the Modesty Blaise books, Willie takes out one of the BGs with a spanner. (Britspeak for wrench )

I used to throw a ten inch circular saw blade, an ice pick and a "giant ice pick" I made from a piece of steel rod about three eighths by fourteen inches. The large pick had a wooden file handle fitted to it because I thought it looked better.

By the way, the saw blade really tore up targets.

There is something aesthetically appealing about knives and hawks that I don't find with other objects like screw drivers, scissors, or sharpened metal rods (though the latter are sometimes interesting). Indoors, in the winter, I do throw smaller and lighter knives at cardboard targets though.
