Cold Steel Tru Flight should run you about $20 each. Dull the edges when you get them, throwing knives DO NOT need to be sharpened in this manor. Go ahead and scrap the paracord wraps while your at it because they will be nicked or cut before long anyway.
Don't order Short Cheap Stainless knives, they are terrible to learn with.
 
Condor Dismissal 14's or Half Spin, I have had one Cold Steel thrower and it was crappy soft, took a set from side impacts.

The weight of the throwing knife and the throwing speed determine the power of the impact and flight path. Lighter knives can be thrown with relative ease but they can be altered easily by the weather, winds and may fail to penetrate the target properly.
