As I prowled the local flea markets in my area, I noticed that there are a lot of knives, mostly assisted opening, in the vendor's cases. They look like decent kinves despited being made in China. I'm not expecting them to Cold Steel or Benchmade, but they seemed to be fairly well made for 15 or twenty bucks. Anyone know anything about Tiger USA?

Common guys, these knives are popping up everywhere. My cop buddies are confiscating them like crazy. Someone has to know something about them.

I have some of them. I haven't used them just bought them because they were cool looking. I then put them in my display case. I know a lot of people are buying/selling them.

being made in china is not, necessarily, an indicator of quality.

if they are anything like the swapmeet stuff i have confiscated, they are junk, imo. mostly what i see here are made by maxam.

They are being confiscated, usually, because they are found on people who have just been arrested for various offenses. Many of them have been taken from minors who have taken them to schools.

I just got a tiger usa Joker A/O knife from bladeops its awesome I love the knife opened and closed it alot and still no blade play flipper is awesome on it i highly recommend

I have been collecting knives for 30 years, and I've never heard of them. Where do you live that they're "popping up everywhere?"

For the hell of it, I googled tiger USA knives and got 700,000 hits. They seem to be popping up somewhere. Interestingly enough though, I couldn't find anything about who made them...

These are imported by Panther Brands (located in Maryland) and appear to be an attempt at cashing in on the lower priced Z-Hunter line from Master Cutlery. Interestingly enough these are getting into kid's hands through flea markets and the like but some legitimate dealers are picking up this brand. Their brands include Tiger USA, Z-Slayer, Mean Bitch, Vampire Lovers and Godfather stilettos. Their damascus knives are usually fake.

Imported by Panther Brands in Maryland. The confiscation issues are probably from items being sold at flea markets, etc.
