Timascus and Mokuti: what is the difference?

I have knives with Mokume Gane and damascus and understand how those are created.

I am attracted to Timascus and Mokuti on knives, but don't know how they differ, and are they actually made from different metals layered (like Mokume or damascus) or are they the result of heat treatments of Ti to bring out different colors?

Much appreciate any knowledge.

I'm pretty sure mokuti and timascus are just two different trade names for the same thing depending on who does it. AFAIK they are the exact same. 6al4v and pure Ti folded together to get the contrast.

Thanks for the response. That makes sense. I need a knife with mokuti or timascus bolsters to complete my collection.
