Just bought my third Timex Expedition. I love these watches. You sure get alot for the money. This one was $33.60...

I've had my eye on a Timex Men's Expedition E-Compass Titanium recently. It's a bit more than many of the other Expidition models ($100-120 retail), but I really like the looks of it.

I've had plenty of cheap Timex watches, and they were ususally of decent quality considering the price. Have you had any experience with their slightly more expenisve models like this one?

No, I haven't, but that is a good looking watch.

I have a digital one that has been through hell - including a 2 month kayak trip up the Inside Passage and a month long descent of the Mackenzie River.
Wristband's finally starting to go after 3 years - other than that, it just takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. Love the watch - great value.
Really wanted one of the fancy ones with the built-in compass, but I think they get screwy when you're this close to the magnetic North pole. Anyone know if this is an issue for the watch compasses, or is it just for regular-ass compasses?

I tossed my Seiko kinetica in a drawer after going with a Timex expedition. The Seiko is prettier, but heavy, and I really hate the self-winders and how they lose time when you take off your watch for the night or a couple of days. Expeditions, analogue versions, look pretty decent even if they are plastic. They don't look it and are light weight. I've never run into problems. I like and am wearing one of the analogue/digital ones. The indiglo night light, alarm and stopwatch are great features in addition to a moving bezel for manual timing. Great watches. When the battery runs out, buy another one.

I picked up a Timex dive style watch about 5 months ago. At a quick glance it looks like a Rolex sub mariner. Paid 42.00 on sale at the WM......
I like it. I had a Seiko aviator and it was a nice watch, but I went back to Timex.
For almost 5 years I had a basic Timex that I beat the crap out of and it would not die. Decided to put a new battery in it and see how long it would last. It's still laying in the drawer with a cracked crystal running just fine.

I've got an old indiglo from the early 90's and last year picked up the black plastic dive-style Expedition. Besides the illuminated dial feature, I especially like that they keep perfect time.

The Indiglo feature is great for tent camping.

Yes it is... I remember the first Timex I got with the Indiglo, I thought this is kind of cheesy. WRONG . I'd be completely lost without it. I work at night so I use it a lot, and definetely use it while camping and hunting

Heres a quick pick of my low dollar "dive" watch .. Guess I should fix the date

wearing an "expedition" on a county comm zulu strap. Only troubles I have had with the watches have been the bands, zulu fixed that and they come in cool colors too.

I've got the Timex Expedition Diver. Use to have the Reef Gear one, but I lost it and it seems they won't be bringing it back.

I see what you're saying. While I'm normally a Swiss analog guy, I have a beat-to-hell Expedition. I have no idea where I got it, but it keeps time, and the lume is unbeatable. I wear it when I need a beater beater beater beater watch.

I bought one recently too, and really like it. It's sort of like the one in the first photo, except has a leather band and cost $40 as I recall. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another - easy to read, durable, keeps time very well, and looks good.

the indiglo on my expedition quit. Otherwise the watch works fine.

I've got a 13 yr. old ironman that is pitted from the highest level of deet that I could get while spending time in the swamps in Fl. two bands, three batteries and just keeps going.
probably the best $20 I spent in college :)

Hard to beat a Timex. Lately they have some very good looking models. I've got my eye on the Fairfield Sub Second, Fairfield Chrono, and the Waterbury TW2p75100za which looks like a Rolex Exlporer.

I used to like the commercials about "Takes a Beating Keep on Ticking". One night on a live show John Cammeron Swazey attached one to an outboard motor propeller and fired it up. When he stopped the outboard motor, the watch was no where to be seen, but he did not miss a beat and said something like "Not sure where the watch is but where ever it is I'll beat it is still ticking".
