He wore these rounded shoes that had no treads. I think a pair would be comfortable, but I'm not quite sure what he wore. Do you guys have any idea? I don't think he wore moccasins.

Those mocs were customs made for the movie. Can't remember the maker though I found them once on the net around 6 years ago.

Check out Dyer or Dwyer moccasins. not exactly the same but they have been making them for a great number of years and have an excellent reputation.

Good recommendation Mike. I still have my first pair of Dyer Mocs made by Walter Dyer. Then picked up a pair by Carl Dyer. Have had the first pair resoled twice. Get the double sole mocs. They have both passed away but the company still lives. I have seen the catskill mocs at fairs. They fit you with a sock and wrap duct tape around your foot to get the perfect size.

This may be way outside of what you are looking for, but I hope it is not too out of place in your thread (apologies if so).

I've been wearing these Lassen shoes for the last 9 months or so. Got them through Zappos. I've found them to be very comfy at a decent price. They've held up extremely well and have sort of a moccasin/shoe feel that is like no other shoe I've worn. This the the Brock model, but they have 2 other models with the same rounded sole called the Barclay and the Buck. Note the stitching between sole and shoe.

Minnetonka makes softsoled mocs for an exceptionally reasonable price, I've done lots of hiking in mine. Order them a full size small and the leather will stretch and conform to your feet, makes for a very comfortable fit.

I walked miles and miles and miles in the 1980s in a pair of what I thought were Clark Desert Boots. I went looking for them after reading this thread and the ones I had were actually closer to what they referred to online as Clark Wallabee Boots. I had a pair of tan ones, they were also known as "Head Shoes" because all of the hardcore potheads wore them in the trailer park. :D
