Tool recommendations?

I'm not sure if this is the correct form to post this I'm brand new to The forum.

I'm looking for a couple recommendations on some knife making tools. I'm just starting out so I'm very new to the craft.

One day I'll spring for a 2 by 72 grinder, but in the meantime I need to balance the budget. I have a 1 by 30. But I look at it as more for finishing work and such. I want to get a 2x42. I'm looking at a Bucktool 2x42 with the grinding wheel. Seems decent, and the grinding wheel might save on belts. I also like the Jet 2x42 with 8 inch sander. It looks a little more well-built but it's also twice the price, and I'm worried that it doesn't give me a lot of surface area of the belt. But it's pretty heavy which means it probably won't vibrate as much.

I would appreciate any thoughts or feedback?

G Ghostin it's not perfect, but I made this video to show that you don't need expensive tools to get started. Stacy E. Apelt - Bladesmith Stacy E. Apelt - Bladesmith hit the nail on the head.. it doesn't take much to make a knife.... except for time and patience. Also note, that some cheap tools purchased for this video are probably still unnecessary because a file can go a long way!

If the heat treat intimidates you, you can send it out to a professional like @JTknives

The google search engine for blade forums is excellent... I use it all the time. So many questions have already been asked! - https://cse.google.com/cse?cx=012217165931761871935:iqyc7cbzhci

Do you have a specific budget in mind? Fill out your profile so we know where you're located. There may be a local maker nearby willing to help you get started.

I have the Jet 2X42 and use it for grinding post heat treat and it works pretty good. I very solid. Before heat treat is do bevels with files and profile the shape with a portable metal band saw. Works good for me.
