Has anyone ever had issues ordering through Tools for Gents? I ordered a Midgards Messer and it has been stuck in Customs for 3 months. The company has tried to help but says there is nothing that they can do once it goes to DHL and then to US customs.

Yeah, if it's stuck at customs, there's nothing TfG can do about it. TfG --> DHL ---> Customs. What should they be able to do in that chain?

One of the pitfalls of private int'l commerce.

An update if anyone is interested: CBP won’t even talk to me until September 28th about this purchase. I ordered the knife the first week of April with a delivery date of April 22nd. Today is July 27th and we are about 4 months from the purchase date. I don’t see reports from other customers that this is typical with purchases through TfG.

I had a knife go through customs in Chicago a few years back that took over 2 months.

I feel ya, not sure why they won't even talk to you till that time. I got on the phone with them and they looked into it for me it still took another 2 weeks but they finally let it go.

Just got my TRC Apocalypse leather sheath from Michal at Tools for Gents, first class service and three day shipping, and they far far away from Kentucky. Now days it seems risky to mail knives internationally and if it’s going to the UK, 50% chance or better it is confiscated at customs. I waited 3 months for a knife from Canada.

Hello!

Unfortunately I don't have a good experience with TFG. Last year (2023) I ordered a PMP Alpha Beast V2 (Fox) from them in the first days of October. It arrived at the end of December, it was a pre-order (3 months). The knife was shoddy, garage made, sub-critical quality, asymmetric blade, handmade (not CNC). Of course I sent it back. The return shipment cost 100 Euros and after two weeks the purchase price was refunded.
They used my money for more than 3 months for the big zero.
Interesting fact: I wrote a review on the TFG website about the above mentioned knife. Result: nothing. They moderated my review, it was not published. But there was nothing offensive in it, I just wrote the truth. I also took a photo so that they wouldn't say I was stating an untrue fact. So that's how the TFG works
