I recently went to my local knife store and saw a deep blue CASE XX Big blade toothpick. Loved it. Blade at least 4 inches if not more.
I have recently heard that a 3.25 inch blade Toothpick is as big as they usually get. Is that right?

The 'standard' toothpick blade size (maybe 'typical' is a better word) usually is around 4", sometimes a little more, in a handle at 5" or more. Case used to make most or all of theirs about that size, as did most other makers. Case's current toothpick is about 4-1/4" closed, so I'm assuming the blade is probably ~3.5", give or take. Case also has a 'small toothpick' and I think even a 'tiny toothpick' now. I know Queen and Schatt & Morgan still have current models in the 'large' sizes. Eye Brand also, I think.

I suspect most makers are responding to market demands now. Most people won't/can't carry large blades anymore, so I think the 'smaller' versions are a response to that.

I love toothpick knives and case is my favorite maker but I will say that GEC 4" toothpick or power horn( basically a 2 blade tp) are far more nicer and feel much better in my hand. I have toothpicks by many makers but again I feel the best toothpick on the market is made by gec. Quite thick/beefy but an all around winner imho.

I've had a classic Toothpick with its very thin blade in past years. I prefer GEC's interpretation of the pattern with its thicker, less flexible blade. Personal preference. I just do.

I think GEC makes a single blades toothpick as well.

Case is not making many, other than the small size.

Toothpicks come in many sizes, from 2" blade to over 4" blade. The Tiny Toothpicks seem to be more common these days, but the 4" to 4 1/2" can still be found.

Thanks everyone This is really helpful. Looks to me like toothpicks do indeed come in the sizes I want. Looks like they would be good slicers for fruit, etc and do well with thin cardboard.

That must have been a slightly older Large model Case TP.
I haven't seen any new large Case TP's lately, but they still make the Medium, and Small(or "Tiny").

They also had the Classic .25, .50, .75, and the $1.00 sized pieces. They also made an XLarge(some called jumbo) long ago.

I have a Queen Amber Stagbone in D2
the overall length of the blade is just under 4"
A lovely knife

I so envy your collection of Toothpicks & fish knives. Mine has just started growing: 2 1970 Case 61093's, 4 610096's, 2 Imperial Fish knives and some more on their way from ebay auctions.
