Recommendation? Tops CUT 4.0???

Anyone try a Tops CUT 4.0?

I can't find a store with one so I would have to blindly order one online. The handle appeals to the "mall ninja" in me but the blade seems practical for utility/outdoor activities. My purpose would be for an edc in both urban and rural areas.

I'm thinking of either picking up a TOPS C.U.T or a Bark River JX4 Bushbat myself. Did you pull the trigger on the TOPS? That horizontal sheath that comes with it looks awesome.

Haha. I was just looking at some YouTube clips of the JX4 last night. I will choose between those too (leaning towards the tops because of the more common blade style). I am also looking at the bark river ringtail.

Right now in order to try out the concept cheaper, I am gonna try the browning wild child and cold steel bird and game. They are cheap and let me try out the karambit style handle prior to spending more on those other knives.

I would love to hear others thoughts.

I took a leap of faith and went with the tops cut 4.0. I haven’t looked back. I really like it. I made wood shavings with it, batoned small sticks and started a fire. It performed great. Hopefully I get a deer this season and I will see how it performs field dressing it. I like the compromise between the utility style blade and the self defense style handle. The ring also acts like a bird and trout knife in that I can let the knife hang while using my hands then go back to knife work. I think it will replace my esee 3 as my edc. Of course I will never get rid of the esee 3 though.
