Hey, all. Mike Fuller sent me a couple TOPS Tactical Steak Knives to review. I'll post more on the forum. Meanwhile, here are some pix and initial impressions. They are flat ground to almost a zero edge (almost), and thin, not thick. Light in the hand but still have "presence" when you hold them. But light enough I don't even feel them when I have them on my belt. This is seriously feeling like it will be in contention for the "awesome bushcraft knife" winning category.

Specs:
O/A Length: 8 1/2"
Blade Length: 4"
Thickness: 5/32"
Steel: 440c Stainless Steel
Handle: Black linen Micarta
Color: Black Traction Coating
Sheath: Kydex

They came with Lansky Field Sharpeners. Lansky did these right - way better than any other I've used (most of them suck). With SAK Rucksack for size comparison.

I like the look of those, thanks for posting the pics.

Also - seems I've been seeing a lot more 440C lately.
It appears to be making a kind of "comeback".

Not a bad looking knife. I look forward to your review.

I'm not a fan of serrations, but if a knife is going to have them the front of the blade seems like the logical place for them to me.

Brian,

They look good! I like 440C, I believe Entrek is still making some blades out of it.. Tried and true IMHO. Can't wait for your review!

Nice! I really want one of these. I like the clip on the sheath too.

HMMMMMMMMMMMM, I'm hungry now. I am surprised at how much I like the looks of those. Thanks for sharing.

The size looks perfect for a bushcrafter. When will these suckers be available?

Chinpo,

They are available already.

Khalnath nailed it: it wouldn't be tactical without the coating. :D

I'll follow up with Spark. Mike said he could have them customized to say,"Bladeforums Wilderness and Survival" or even "Brian's Buddies". LOL

By the way, we'd need to do an order of 40-50 knives for TOPS to be able to do a run with the "Bladeforums Wilderness and Survival" engraved on it. If we do less, I'll check to see what the extra charges might be for engraving, if he can do it at all in that case.

I saw them up close, they look pretty darn functional. Very interested in a plain blade

waca waca.
