Looks like a lot of thought went into it. What do you guys think about the design?

Looks like a good design to me, but the notch in the spine reminds me of the Buck Hoodlum, so I'm not sure how it will hold up.
Other than that, I like it. I like TOPS tan micarta handles, too.

The failures with the Hoodlum had more to do with the fact that Buck laser cut the blanks and mangled the heat treat than the pot lifter. I'm not a huge fan of TOPS, but I am sure that their quality control is up to spec.

OK, I didn't know that. Never heard a bad thing about TOPS' quality, I was just wondering.

I like it. I enjoy watching designers explain the features they have put into a knife.

Cool video, I liked seeing the designer explain his thoughts behind the knife. However, the blade just looks a bit too busy to me. They crammed way too many features into it. I prefer a simpler knife. If they offered a single edge version with no wire breaking notches, I might be interested (but they probably won't).

I'm glad to see TOPs putting out more outdoors oriented blades, with thinner stock. I never cared for their 1/4" tactical knives with goofy names (I've got a 4" wharncliffe from TOPs, can't remember the name, that's so thick it's useless).

OK, has anyone had one of these out & about to use? I found a decent deal on one, but don't want to spend money on something that may not hold up to heavy use. I trust the members here more than the designer or company videos. Thanks for any & all info guys!

Looks like a well thought out design Dennis. Are you considering getting one? Tops is really starting to come through with some useful knives here lately.

Looks like a Busse Battle Mistress Ergo on top or Steelheart Ergo middle.

Looks like a Busse BM-E Battle Mistress Ergo

That's the ZTBM, but yeah, kinda similar. I think the Tops is different enough that I wouldn't consider it a copy.

The ZT lineup had the top swedge and short blade grind. The BM-E had no swedge and was full flat ground. Also different handle color and was black coated.

Thats right! Its been a while since I let them go.
Not a copy but very similar.

Here is a BM-E

Awwww man, you sold em off?! I had a set and sold mine too. (Dang it!) I miss those pretty bad. Beautiful knives!

Looks awful, way too tactical. Top edge, finger choil, thumb ramp, all useless and inhibit good performance.

I like it, good size for a do it all camp and pack knife. I like a top edge and have used them a bunch in the outdoors, choils are great to choke up and I like the pry bar. Looks like a well designed knife, pretty much everything that I like.
