Avoid Jeff_t Jeff_t - he did not make good on the trade and ghosted me.

Hi All,

I'm unclear on forum rules for committed trade agreements on BF.

Committed to a trade with user:

Trade thread:

His knife: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/wts-frag-off—sold.2009598/
My knife: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...tandard-153-1-rare-marked-early-prod.2013473/

we closed the deal at 5pm, i marked my thread pending once we agreed on the trade and i sent my commitment "I'm in for the trade".

Shortly after we exchanged addresses, after packing up, buying a label, taking videos of the knife and finalizing my end he said he sold to a cash buyer.

He disappeared about an hour ago, I'm hoping this will be an easy resolution and he honors the trade, but in the interim I'm curious what BF policy is on something like this?

PM thread:

Douchey.

“Men” on here need to stick to their word but that’s becoming less common. I recently had someone on here give me 15 minutes to respond or they were moving on to the next buyer. I responded in 6. Last I checked that’s less than 15. He had already sold it.

I was on the phone with my niece’s mother. My niece was in the hospital catatonic with meningitis. She will never be the same and needs constant care. Missed out on the knife but she was more important at the time.

Had done a few deals with this particular A-hole previously, but never again. A man can’t keep his word, he’s dead to me.

For an isolated instance, until an item or money changes hands, put that person on ignore and get on with life. A thread in GBU such as this one is also good practice. A person who builds up a history of backing out on deals will be dealt with. But a single instance is insufficient grounds for banishment.

Buyers/Buying
6. Malicious Buyers will be permanently banned from the forums. Repeatedly flaking on deals and buying items only to turn around and complain is also not a good idea.

7. If you must back out of a deal, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate with the other person WHY you are unable to complete the transaction. Make sure this happens BEFORE any money or items have been exchanged.

Traders
6. Communication is key, honor your word. If you say you will do something, then do it. Since we are not dealing face to face, your word and integrity is all you will be judged on.

Rules for Feedback
5. If a deal did not happen, there is no iTrader Feedback to leave. Sorry if you were inconvenienced, but life is full of disappointments. As long as you're not out any items or money hasn't changed hands, move along.

That's the internet generation for ya.......I want it NOW..........RIGHT NOW......
Sad....

Am I missing a screen shot of where Jeff_T actually agreed to the trade? I don’t see an agreement in there. I see a discussion and P64imp wanting to close the deal…but no agreement.

He requested trade, i committed in response and asked for an address to ship to so i can prepare it, received his confirmation here along with his ship to address.

That's why I like arfcom, anyone dicks you around and walks out on deals gets booted off of the forums like it should be.

Yes... Jeff seems to think there's any ramifications so he seems to be ghosting me now.

Problem is the new forum doesn't have the feedback plugin so its harder to know who your dealing with... =(

He's shown you who he is, at least when it comes to business. Make note and move on.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It may save someone future frustration.

you are so right.

He's completely ghosted me. Avoid this member. Burned money on a label which irritates me.

Switching the report tag to Bad.

While he certainly should have followed through, I always feel lucky to have a deal fall apart early, rather than finding out how bad latter could have been. No way would I want the deal to be completed at this point.

agreed. only concern is he's still out and about on BF doing this to others... I doubt many come here before making deals in the selling threads. I know I don't...

Sorry to hear you had a crappy deal.

It’d be good if everyone used a single thread, per member, for feedback. I joined not too long ago… created a thread… put it in my sig line. I refer members to it whenever I do a deal.

Feedback button…. Blues provided update on that idea below.
