Nothing like the feeling of a fresh sharpened knife in your pocket.
I know it. I enjoy traditional sharpening and knives so I thought this would fit in here. You're right. Plenty of sharpening talk over in the "Maintenance, Tinkering, and Embellishment sub-forum.

It’s not hard at all, just takes practice. Practice on a cheap knife so you don’t scratch your good blades up.I really have to get to trying to use a stone more. All I ever use is one of those Lansky turn boxes and it can take FOREVER sometimes.

I won’t fib, I was kinda hoping for a traditional knife and stone pictures thread to take root.
Thanks. I didn’t know I could change the title once it was posted.Change thread title to ‘traditionals and stones’ and I bet it works. I’m traveling and don’t have a stone with me or I’d join you.
Thanks for sharing. That Remington is a thing of beauty!
There is a lot of satisfaction to using traditional sharpening methods.I have much admiration for hand stone sharpening. No frills, no fancy bevel polish, no mechanically perfect bevels. I’m always tempted to re teach myself hand sharpening and hang up the guided rod systems. I only carry a hand stone when I’m on a pack or hunting trip, but I need to get back to good old fashioned knife sharpening.
