For this one I wanted to make one as traditionally as possible.
I am taking it to Blade show to get some pictures by Jim Cooper. Here is a taster though.
Barrel, 3”
Blade is damasteel
Handle is York gum burl
All other fittings a bronze, including home cast.

I heirloomed the joints between ferrules and bolsters and not sure how I feel about that. Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

Hope you like! This is Barrel knife number 5 for me. You can see some of my others in previous posts.

Beautiful work! And I have to say that I rather like the heirloom fit look. I understand why some folks might prefer a clean fit, but the heirloom fit just looks more classic to me. The seamless fit always feels more modern to me.

Very nice work .

Having made a few of these I know how difficult they are to get right!

These knives are about as special as a knife can get. Your's is fantastic and the heirloom feature a wonderful enhancement. Thanks for sharing.

Very unique and beautiful.
I've never seen that style before. The Damascus is excellent.
Can you explain how it works for the less informed like me?

Okay, these are really cool. I want one. Im intrigued. Anyone know of any modern ones being made?

Beautiful craftsmanship!

I am not aware of any factory ones. There are a couple of sporadic custom makers. #barrelknife on Instagram is good to follow.

View attachment 1125006 I picked this up at a gun and knife show on April 27.

That is a lovely example and looks to be in excellent condition. Who was the maker?
