I've been reading for 2 hours straight on flattening stones and I'm lost. I have an edge pro and need a way to flatten my stones. At fisrt I wanted to buy a naniwa truing stone (32$) but I've read that even those truing stones will need some truing. wtf ?? What should I use then ?

Other options :

1 : piece of granite with silicium carbide (where do I get that silicium powder ?)

2 : Piece of wet dry sandpaper on glass/granite. How am I supposed to hold the sandpaper in place while grinding my stone ?

Thanks for your help, very appreciated.

I use the EdgePro method on glass, but buy Rock Polishing Media silicon carbide (4 different grits) for the abrasive. This helps avoid making the very fine stones rough and pitted because of the very coarse (one size fits all) grit. I use very fine grit powder for the fine stones. And coarse grit for the coarse stones.

In the past I've mangled a few 1500 stones by trying to level with 60 grit silicon carbide.

Or you could just switch to the KME Gold Diamond stones, or DMT Dia-Sharp. At least I think they would work with the EP.

The DMT XXC or Atoma 140 will solve all of your problems.

I am in the market for either one of these, is there one that is more preferred for this purpose or should I just get whichever is cheaper? I have a DMT course on the way, I assume I could use that on softer stones like my kings in the mean time?

No, DMT strictly states that only the Dia-flat and XXC plates can be used for lapping. You will ruin the Coarse DMT using it to lap anything.

The Atoma is better but the DMT has better longevity in my experience. Though I will admit I probably killed my Atoma using to lap my 150 grit stone.
