Today I had a little spare time and a little spare linen micarta laying around and decided to give my Spyderco Tuff some well deserved love.
Unfortunately when I downloaded my pictures from my phone most were corrupt for some reason but I still managed to get a few of the process of putting a new scale on the knife.
Anyway enjoy the few that turned out, maybe it will spark some motivation or creativity in you!
Thanks for looking!
Micarta slab with scribe marks, and bottom picture is of rough cut out and shaping....

Now epoxied to liner after clamping and setting. I use Plastic epoxy for some projects, it works great for metal better than other epoxy's I've tested, it does stink a bit and sets in a cream color.
Bottom picture is just about all cleaned up....

This is before and after the threaded spacers were filed down. This was done because the screws will now tighten to the liner flush with this install.

Just like for the threaded spacers the pivot hole is drilled completely through the micarta...making a fibrous washer as the new seat for the pivot screw and adjustment...

Glued in with loctite 380. This is another glue your missing out on if you haven't tried it!

Lots of sanding and contouring and all done.....for now...I really liked how it turned out, the recessed dimple adds great grip. The other modifications I've done allow this knife to fly open with the flick of the wrist and have solid lockup.
