Got this in as part payment for some lanyard work done for DocJekl DocJekl and as I am quite fond of lanyards myself, I took the one side off of the folder and drilled a 1/16" hole part way through each scale so I could fit a small 1/16" stainless pin to be a hidden lanyard pin. Not as easy as my last modification where I was able to drill through both of the inner scales at the same time making the alignment easier. I had to get as close as I could to keep the holes lined up, ended up working out ok, just make sure you don't drill TOO deep so you don't go all the way through!

Nice knife, thin razor sharp blade, what's not to like?

Edited to add that the last UK Pen knife I had I used it while on assignment down in Mexicali Mexico, thin blade slicing down through this heavy walled cardboard crate that our parts/equipment arrived in. This is from back in 2008

Excellent work!

Thanks Doc.

I have a few knives in for lanyards this week, one of them is a Para3 which I thought was pretty close to the UK Pen in shape and size, blade is slightly different plus a bit thicker and of course it has a lock, but pretty close looking,

The Para 3 and Manix 2 are probably my favorite Spyderco, as a thin and light package with a decent blade size and shape. But I didn't feel bad at all carrying only a UK Pen Knife in LC200N and a SAK while visiting the UK for 16 days last year.

The UK Pen Knife still felt very familiar to me, and the slip joint action is nice and crisp, so it didn't leave me feeling like I was in danger of it closing on my fingers while using it. I do wish that it had a G10 handle instead of FRN though.

Every time someone posts here and I get updated, I think, "Oh Noes, Gary is selling it ?!?!" and then I see I overreacted 😅

The title pops up, and I think it's being sold is all; because I forget about this thread is to just show it off. But then I open it, and go "Whew!"

Don't forget I called dibs when I shipped it to you 🤩
