I'm really hankering for a BIG Kukri Khonvention...have been for a long time. I'm not talking about local, interstate get-togethers (which are great!)...I'm thinking of "The One"...that nobody can refuse...the "Must Go-n-See It"...

Let's put together some ideas on location, events, attractions, etc. We just started a new year and there's plenty of time to plan something out. If we're going to do it, let's do it right!

If you post an idea, please include a "rough location" (Northeast Iowa, etc.). I can plot 'em out on the computer and it will tell me the most geographically central location...

We definitely would want Yangdu there...and if it's not in Reno....we could all pitch in to cover a ticket (knowing that a Big Box-O-Kuks is sure to attend...:D)

What time of year is best for you?

What kinds of things would make it so you "Have to Be There"?

All suggestions are welcome!

p.s. I'm not volunteering to organize this myself...nor am I desirous to usurp any current ongoing khonventions.

Nothing for me is ideal for the rest of y'all. But why not give it a shot? How about Atlanta? hehe.

Fort lauderdale is good any time of the year, or orlando then the family can be droped off at Mickeys place

of course i'm gonna have to suggest somethin in the NY/NJ area. the NJKCA has a meeting every month, maybe some collaboration is in order for a one time khukri extravaganza.

Andy's right. In Atlanta, the week before Blade.

Just sayin' :D It's still a 6 hour drive for me.

But 2 shows for the price of one.

Reno...So Yangdu does not have to travel, I hate to fly so I would not make her do it...+ many things to do before and after the Khon in Reno, good places to eat (the Atlantis had an excellent buffet as many times as I have eaten there) , good places to stay

RENO

+ I wana race Norm over the Donner Pass..

:D

I would say either Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV.

Time element would be best for either Spring or Fall to avoid the excessive heat althought Reno should not be too bad. If in Vegas, perhaps at approximately the time of the Antique Arms Show in early January. Obviously too late for this year but???

Great idea, large KUDOS!

Dallas is easy to get to from about anywhere. It is Wouthwest's hub and their prices are pretty decent.

casinos and buffets... how can you lose :p
reno or las vegas nevada would work great for me

keep the suggestions coming...

Also, don't forget to include some activities you'd like to see happen.

If in Vegas...we won't need too many suggestions...just a few fingers to point the way to the next one...!
