USA made AAA flashlights?

Hey all,

Are there any AAA powered USA made lights other than the Maglight Solitaire? I currently have a Streamlight which works well but I would like something a little higher quality and made in the States.

I have a Surefire e1e and a L1 Lumamax but I find them too fat to carry in my pocket. The size of the Streamlight is just right but I prefer the solid build of the Surefires.

Thanks.

I've had an Arc AAA on my keychain for years, great little light.

Me too. Not the latest or greatest technology. No multi-levels, strobe, etc. But a damn tough, compact, reasonably bright, well built keychain light. IMO, one of the toughest, most reliable makes out. I keep wanting to upgrade to one of the newer models, but the one I have will not die! Battery seems to last a long, long time.

In my opinion the Arc AAA deserves first place for the most practical and reliable triple A light of all time.

They are bomb proof.

Isn't Maratac from Countycomm a USA made torch?

Just email or call countycomm.com and ask.
They are great little lights. I have a natural, and my son has a black.
I just ordered the Maratac AA light, which is currently inbound.

One cool thing about the AAA and AA Maratacs is that you can flip the clip and have a hand's free cap light.

I have several CountyComm Maratacs, but if your interested in the CountyComm Maratac, try this ITP A3 (AAA) EOS Keychain LED Light. I believe it is the same manufacturer as the Maratac, but this model has (1) a better lanyard ring, (2) is $9.50 less, and (3) I think it ships free.

Made in USA: Arc makes a good light. So do the folks at Peak LED. Both are very high quality. I have both; I like both.

Look for peak lights at http://www.em-mgt.com/LED/MS.html

+1

check out oveready.com and look for Peak Eiger or go to above website and decide what style body you want( brass, stainless, or aluminum). Also you have to choose output as well(just tell them what you want).

Even tho itp/marataac lights are damn good, I don't think they are made in America. I have a stainless steel Peak El Capitan & a old Arc aaa en route and I can't wait.:)

Peak and Arc are the only ones off the top of my head.

You're definitely looking for a Peak Eiger; give Peak LED Solutions a call and they'll sort you right out. They make each light to order so that they can tailor each light to each customer's needs, and they're made right in Arizona.

Maratac is made by ITP for CountyComm, and is made in China.

The fenix e01 is brighter then the arc aaa model. All fenix lights are made in china, and they are as good if not better in fit and finish then surefire.

I use Fenix and Surefire. Fenix is not superior in F&F or durability. But they still make great lights.

I just got a Maglite XL100, 3 x AAA, and I'm not really impressed. Nice enough toy but too complicated, too much useless function, which adds up to use in the street is not intuitive enough.

I've had an Arc AAA on my keyring for a long time. Not the brightest, until you're out there in the dark with nothing else! And I don't always want a blinding light, or want to hunt for a lower setting.

Guyon, I never thought of flipping the clip like that. Just did mine and its Perfect. Im going camping in NY this weekend and was wishing I had picked up a headlamp. Problem sloved ,,,Thanks !!!!

I like the styling of the Maratac but I'd prefer something made in the USA. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Peak Matterhorn?

 +1 Fenix may be better and keeping up with the latest technology, but they do not have better fit and finish than Surefire.

Unless they have changed the design, it is a bit longer than the Arc. I prefer the Arc. Fenix are nice, I own more of them than any other brand. But they are no where near the quality of a Surefire.

The Arcs are cool but the truth is I'm just not that impressed by them or any of the Peaks really. I'm sure the quality is nice but I like having multiple output modes like my L1 Lumamax. I think I'll just get over it and get a Maratac. It wins in all of my catagories except country of manufacture. Oh well. Maybe someday Surefire will make a AAA powered light but I doubt it.
