USA Made Bench Vise?

My son broke my Harbor Freight special over the winter. Just got a $250 gift certificate from work and would like to purchase a new vise. I do not use my tools to make a living (I are a desk jockey), but am trying to make a concerted effort to buy quality when purchasing 'long term' tools for vehicle/atv/tractor maintenance, household honey-do's, etc. After extensive interweb searching, I have concluded that U.S. made vises start in the ~$250 range. Even the high-end makers (such as Wilton, Yost) outsource their home-owner, light use models.
Criteria desired:
-entry level professional, US made utility vise, including pipe vise.
- 4 1/2 to 6" jaws with swivel base
- ~$250-$350 delivered
Currently, the vise that most interests me is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/TRADESMAN-COM...ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1267637399&sr=8-1
Any advice on others in this price range?
Thanks!

Record vises are made in England. They are super rugged and the prices are not bad.

Well, I chickened out on the >$300 prices and ended up getting a one of WILTON's better 'import' models for ~$150. For my weekend warrior uses, $300+ just didn't make sense. I consoled myself by saying "at least I bought from an American company and the profits will stay home" ( I think WILTON is a U.S. company?). Anyway, I used some of the 'savings' to purchase a Spyderco Sharpmaker.
