Uses For Paracord Core?

I am talking about the thin white innards that you have left when you strip out paracord. From time to time, I have saved some of it for future projects, but always end up tossing it for lack of said projects.

Considered saving it into a giant ball to create a road side attraction, but since we live in Manhattan, my wife is adamantly against attracting passersby’s into our apartment.

I still feel wasteful throwing the stuff away.

So: anybody have any uses to suggest? Maybe some projects made using it?

I have used it for the following; fishing line, dental floss, trip wire string, lashing material.

I have used it for sewing, especially heavy buttons i.e. BDU's, whipping the ends of rope and fishing for set lines like catfish, rigging a plumb bob and pulling wire through plastic conduit.

you can do an under wrap to add thickness or grip to a paracord wrap. It also makes for excellent thread for sewing leather sheaths.

I'm using it right now on a pair of hiking boots to replace a torn shoe string.

I have made tassels for pull cords on decorative cord work on ships. Things like the brass ship's bells and such. Tie one end, flip the tie inside the middle upside down, then do a decorative cord around the top. Looks just like you paid 20 bucks for it at those decorating stores...I'll look for a picture of one that has been outside for several years......

i used to save all my paracord guts, when I had enough I made a net (not real big) out of the scraps because I also realized I was never going to actually use them for anything useful :o

After completing it, I instantly recognized it as another item would never have any use for and threw it away... oh well :)

JBOB- sounds like a great seine or dip net for catching fish or crayfish/helgramites...... probably takes alot of patience but soemthign good for food gathering.
