I recently purchased and restored an 8lb sledge hammer with USM stamped on underside of head. I’m not familiar with this company, although I think it was around in the 80s. Are USM hammers good/bad/decent?

Is it USM or US and then an M ?I recently purchased and restored an 8lb sledge hammer with USM stamped on underside of head. I’m not familiar with this company, although I think it was around in the 80s. Are USM hammers good/bad/decent?
Is it USM or US and then an M ?
Is the US stamped inside a deep circle?
Is there also a 2 digit date stamped into it, or a safety goggle warning?
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-usm-lb-sledge-hammer-head-1856667554Thanks for responding. It’s a “USM” stamped inside a circle along with an “8”, which is also inside the circle. The USM are in a semicircular pattern and the 8 is under the USM. “Wear Safety Goggle” is stamped on opposite side of sledge, also on under side. Nothing indicates a date.
That’s it as pictured on the worthpoint site. Thank you much. Can you advise what USM stands for? Is it a rare find? I’m finding very little online. Thank you again for your information.
