Hi,

I was awaiting my first GEC to arrive today and I went to check my mail shortly after it was delivered. No package was present so I assumed that either they forgot it and would deliver at a later time or deliver it tomorrow. It was only until a few hours later I checked the tracking for it to say delivered at 3:05 PM roughly the time the mail man was in my area.

What does this mean? Was my package stolen? Or is there a chance for it to be delivered tomorrow? I've never had this happen to me before and I'm hoping that I will still receive my knife.

Thanks,
BN

UPS SurePost? The tracking data should say. UPS carries it as far as the PO and they take it the rest of the way.

Report it to the post office that it didn't arrive, but tell them you want to give it a day or two just in case it arrived at a neighbor's house by mistake. If it doesn't arrive after that, file a claim.

Will a claim even do anything for be b/c it says delivered!? The GEC dealer I ordered it from did not insure so the package only has the $50 default insurance. b/c the package says delivered I have nothing other than my word that the package is missing and I'm not sure if I can even get a replacement from the dealer. I don't know all my neighbors too well, but I hope should they have received my package they have the integrity to return it as opposed to keeping it. :grumpy::mad::( I've never had this happen to me before. I was really looking forward to that GEC in its particular stag scales. Hope I get it..

Chances are it was delivered to the wrong address. Get in touch with your post office and they will follow up with the mail person and see what happened.

I have had this happen. And the package showed up the next day. I wouldn't have any idea why. Maybe I was just lucky, and when the postman put it in the wrong box someone brought it over and put it in mine. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, turned out it was delivered to the wrong address.
If it doesn't get delivered tomorrow, track down your postman and ask if he remembers delivering a package(small priority package) to a house on your street the day before.

That's my intention. If it was misdelivered I hope whoever has it can return it.

What does the post office do say if I call them and the package was indeed delivered to the wrong address? Do I just go walk to said address ask for my package back and hope they comply? I'm especially concerned since the insurance value doesn't cover the cost of this knife. Should I contact the dealer and let him know that the package is missing or wait until I've tried everything with the post office?

I would first talk with the PO and ask them to question the carrier, in my case they were really helpful and called my carrier to ask if he had delivered a package on said day( he was actually sick and a newbie was filling in)

Hopefully they will have the carrier return to the house he remembers delivering a priority box to and ask the occupants if they indeed have it. If not its a couple days waiting game to see if the person either gives it back to the carrier when they see him/her for re-delivery or they are kind enough to deliver it themselves.

Hell the carrier may of messed up and he still has it and you will get it tomorrow.

In my case it was 4 days from mis-delivery until I got my package in hand.

Get with you postman ASAP,he left it at the wrong house. I just had this happen with a good size order of lanyards and I waited to long to contact the carrier to see where he left them.

Thanks for the replies guys. I feel a little better haha. I guess time will tell and I'll find out tomorrow whether I get the package back or not.

This happens to me all the time. What it usually is, is a miss scan. It usually gets delivered the next day. I still call usps to start a claim though

Mailman came and no package is present. Called USPS CS # and opened a case. Afterwards I called and still am calling my local post office number, but some ass of an employee keeps picking up the phone and hanging it up.

You best get yourself to the post office in person on Tuesday and speak with a supervisor. Until then, there is really not much you can do being a holiday weekend and all, and most post offices if not all are closed by noon on Saturdays.

My local post office closes at 3:00 PM my time. Seems that they are unwilling or too lazy to address any phone calls during their open hours. I already have a case opened and the CS said they'll have to have a supervisor call me and find where the courier left the package, but I was told the earliest I could get a call is on Tuesday. Hope this courier still remembers what he did...

Local post office number finally replied. Said they were the supervisor for the 91006 area code and the supervisor for mine, 91007 was out. Whatever the case I'll have to wait till Tuesday and for the supervisor to contact the courier.

Best case scenario at this point is that a neighbor has my package and decides to return it to the correct address. Given that many of my neighbors are shy or unacquainted with me it seems unlikely at this point. Hope no one would have the audacity to keep a misdelivered package and pocket a GEC that should be mine.....

I work in shipping & recieving and the USPS often declares that a package is delivered when it has reached the final post office destination. I often have to inform upset folks about this when they come looking for their "delivered" parcels... The parcels usually show up the next day and occaisonally the second day after the parcels are declared "delivered".
