UT knife laws

I have read the code on dangerous weapons and it is very vague to say the least. What I want to know, is if anyone here has any problems in UT with carrying a knife, be it pocket knife, fixed blade, bali, whatever. Also I am thinking about getting a small lightweigth baton to carry. Does anyone know what kind of problems this might pose under UT law?

Thank You

I think the blade length limitation is around 3 to 3.5 inches. As far as batons go, I know you can have them in your car. The best thing to do would be to ask a cop, because they have to know concealed carry laws and limitations.

So you'd think...

True that is.
Neverless I just carry my knife and keep it out of sight out of mind.
On balisongs, I know 5 yrs ago they couldn't have a blade over 4 in" or they were considered illegal. Switchblades you could own as long as it was part of a collection and not carry unless you are active duty law enforcement, military or are disabled in the use of one of your hands. You shouldn't have any problem with folders and small fixed blades would probably sneak by. Most cops in UT won't charge you with anything knife related unless they're just making up charges, because they want to crucify you. In other words it is just something they enforce more for the criminal element in society. Just don't be stupid about it and you'll be fine.
Also planterz is right, so I'll correct that to cops should know.
