Vanax vs Magnacut

I have a QC Waypoint in Vanax and had a Bradford Guardian 3 in Magnacut which I have since gifted to my son, I don't have a preference both will easily fit my needs. Only owned the Waypoint for about 3 months, it's held it's edge well through light duty haven't even had the need to strop it yet and very, very happy with the overall quality of the knife. The G3 I didn't carry much not because of the blade steel but because I have other Fixed Blades I prefer to carry, I will say my son who spends a lot of time in the woods hunting is extremely happy with it.

Vanax is my favorite steel, and I've never tried MagnaCut. Vanax should have a small advantage in edge retention, corrosion protection and -- I think -- fine-grained edge keenest. However, Magnacut will have a pretty big advantage in toughness.

For my uses, Vanax is tough enough. And I love this steel. But MagnaCut appears to be an amazing advance in knife steels.

Magnacut is the better all around steel by far. No steel is better in general. Some are tougher or stronger or more corrosion resistant but none has the amount of each compared to Magnacut.

The key is the heat treat and geometry. There is no set answer because different knives have their tasks. I small fixie or folder can be harder where a large camper knife should be tougher for impact. Idk vanax too well but a Magnacut folder at 64-65 will cut a very long time. A camp knife is better from 61-62.5

For those of you that have tried both Vanax and Magnacut which one to you prefer? Which one has the better edge retention? Thanks in advance for your feedback
I prefer Vanax personally. It has slightly better edge retention and I seem to be able to get it to a finer edge as well IMHO.
