Hi all,
I live in Canada, and have just recently been accepted to begin training with the RCMP. To celebrate, my girlfriend bought me the buck Vanguard 192BR I had been eyeing. It is a beautiful knife. However, instead of coming with the brown leather sheath it belings in, it was packaged in the nylon sheath for the rubber handled fixed blade alpha 693.
She said she noticed this discrepency and questioned the salesman about it, and was told that Buck no longer made the leather sheath for the Vanguard, and this was the only sheath they were recieving for it.
As I said, the knife itself is beautiful, but it is such an eyesore to see the gorgeous wood handles sticking out of the nylon sheath, so what is the story here? I am sure Buck still makes the leather sheath, I am assuming the store somehow goofed things up and the salesman didn't know any better. The box is labeled correctly, and apparently it was the last one in stock. Is it possible that Buck shipped the knife in the wrong sheath?
