What’s going on BF!!! Thought I would share a quick review regarding a knife that has truly surprised me over the last several months. I picked it up at Blade show in Atlanta earlier this year at the last minute. I have held and flipped a few of the Vero models and appreciate their knives but this one really stood out to me as exceptional so I went ahead and bought it.
After a few months to carry and consider everything, I think this is as good as any of my production line Shirogorov knives which I consider a top-tier and possibly gold standard of production knife making when it comes to flippers and it’s nearly half the price.
1. Absolutely amazing action open and shut
2. Extremely comfortable and slim
3. Much sharper than any of my Shiros , absolutely hair popping laser beam sharp.
4. Huge blade for a knife that does not look like it would be able to hold so much blade.
5. Beautifully simply design
6. Extremely tight tolerances as shown in the video with fixed blade feeling lock up.
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and back over the past 5 years and have owned a lot of the usual suspects, Hinderer, Shiro, Grimsmo, Medford, Herman, Oz Roosevelts, Keonigs, Rockstead, CKF, Hog House, and lots of “flipper” knives over $1,000 as well. This one stands out and keeps on surprising me how much I like it, especially at a price that I think is extremely reasonable. I’m not saying that the Lux is necessarily better than anything I listed above. I’m just saying that it has stood out to me amongst a lot of stout competition.
Lastly, while I was making this post, I just noticed this knife also won best factory folder at Bladeshow Texas when I was just trying to look up the specs, lol. Not surprised at all!!!
