Sometimes you just get lucky....
A local dealer informed me on Tuesday that he had bought in a couple of Spydies from a collector who had fallen on hard times. I saw a Vesuvius combo edge on the list and rushed out after work. I had last seen one of these in Paris in 2007 but the lockup wasnt tight so i left it. Well, tnis one was really solid, mint condition and was numbered as well, so i couldnt say no.
A collector buddy of mine beat me to the shop, and he took a Vesuvius plain edge and a Calypso. I let another collector buddy know as i knew he was looking for a Gunting, and he walked away with Gunting plain edge, Spyderfly and Spot.
We all scored here. At least those Spydies went to good homes, all back with collectors who will care for them.
