Which ever one you put the thickest edge on.I'm looking at some new Fallknivens.
I know for edge retention it goes like this: VG10<LamCos<Elmax
But how would you rank them for toughness?
Thanx
Which ever one you put the thickest edge on.
My kitchen cutlery are all VG10 and hold a razor edge, but toughness is not there. My absolute favorite steel is Elmax. I search out knives in this
Where did you here that? Very interestingThe original F1 will be in Elmax late this year or early next. I've wanted to try one for years and I think Elmax is the final push, together with the new sheath.

Thank youI just asked them if they had any plans for it and got a quick reply from Peter Hjortberger.
Was very exited myself to hear this. It's gonna be a long hard wait...![]()
I have used every steel Fallkniven has put out other than the ATS-34 the German made F1 was in. My choice would be Lam Cos currently but I may change that to VGWolf once I give the new F1 a try as it looks promising.
Cost vs performanceWhy do you like lamcos better than elmax?
What are they? ATS-34, solid vg10, lam vg10, lam vg10w, lam cos, 3G and vg7? Any more?I have used every steel Fallkniven has put out other than the ATS-34 the German made F1 was in.
