What is the recommendation for pivot screws these days? In the past I've always just used a dab of grease which has worked well enough, but does require somewhat regular adjustment. Thinking about switching to a thread compound and currently looking at a purple locker such as permatex low strength purple or using this Vibra-Tite VC-3. Is either clearly superior to the other? There is also this Saf-T brand of thread locker but I've never seen that in my area.

Probably depends on what knife you're talking about. For example Chris Reeve Knives doesn't recommend any thread treatment at all to pivot screws.

I've never even thought about using anything on pivot screw threads, so interested in what the forum has to day about the topic.

I love the vibra-tite blue gel (don't like the vc3 stuff). It's amazing.

If that is the case, why is a tube of loctite included in the box with a new umnumzaan or inkosi? (The sebenza 25 came with one, as well.)
