Picked this up on eBay.
Victorinox 'Bird's Beak' paring knife with custom sheath and has a handle modification to aid when held in a reverse grip.
Sheath is set for left side in the waist band carry but can be configured in a variety of other ways.
This set up is nice because it allows a "sharp" & excellent knife to be carried and used and if lost, broken or needs to be 'ditched' it is cheap to replace.
Also handy with a piece of fruit ;)

I never plan on ditching a knife. In fact, the only time I would think to ditch something is if it were considered "evidence", and I try not to commit any crimes...

My knives are particularly used for daily utility, and that knife seems like it would work nicely for those rogue apples that need peeling around lunch time...

I'm not entirely clear on why you'd conceal carry a paring knife, but I guess that's a good way to do it LOL

The mods to the handle are stupid, but this knife should make a great edc blade.
It's lightweight, it's got a real thin slicey blade, and I'll bet it's razor sharp too.

If entering a federal building or anywhere there's a metal detector and forgot to leave it in a car or at home or several other scenarios and you have it in a pack or on you, 'ditching' a $5.00 knife is no loss compared to a $500.00 knife.

If I'm entering a federal building, I will either
A) know ahead of time, and thus, not bring a knife with me.
B) be under escorts of law, and therefore not have a knife on me.

Furthermore, I do carry a knife on me that has been through/around many metal detectors. A simple Victorinox Secretary resides in my wallet. Since I use a knife at work daily, having a spare makes the day significantly easier. I have forgotten a knife twice, and if not for that knife, it would have been a pain in the butt...

I do not carry a knife (let alone one with a blade shy of 2", like a parer) as a self-defense, last resort.
If I am in that rough of a scuffle, someone is getting my thumb in their eye...

Just as you should think ahead about keeping yourself out of a dangerous situation and not need a SD knife, yu should also think ahead if going into a federal building.
Even if you don't, just say that you forgot to get your license from your car, go back and drop your knife off...
