the victorinox camper has accompanied me on many trips into the woods, camping trips and hill walking trips and has proved useful on all counts. in the outdoors i tend to use bigger blade more as it is a heavier duty thicker blade at about 2.5" doing jobs like cutting cord, straps, food prep etc and most other jobs requiring a blade the small blade however at about 1.5" is more suited for wood working and wittling and likewise has proved useful with outdoorsmen and whittlers alike when i am carrying it in public or around the house i tend to use this blade still for normal everyday tasks such as opening packages. the advantage of the small blade is that it is so small and discreet people barely notice it and you don't get the look of "my lord he's got a knife"
one of the reasons i bought this knife was for the saw blade which although small at just under 3" is extremely effective at even some fairly thick branches although it is better to use a larger folding saw if available as it will struggle with larger branches but it still gets the job done.
the can opener is nothing short of excellence making relatively short work of cans with a bit of practice if also has on the tip of it a 3mm flat head screwdriver but it is also good at dealing with phillips head screws and in some cases is easier to use than any phillips head on the underside of the knife instead this knife has a corkscrew which is these days somewhat useless as majority of wine bottles have screwcaps but it is sturdy unlike some corkscrews on penknives so i'm sure it will do what it's supposed to.
the flathead screwdriver with bottle opener and wire stripper like the can opener is excellent easily getting rid those pesky caps keeping you and your beer apart the flat head screwdriver measures 6mm and does what it is supposed to- tightens and un-tightens flathead screws and does it very well as for the wire stripper i am not quite sure whether it works or not although i have heard from some people that it is okay and others that it is absolute rubbish so i am going to remain neutral on this subject.
the final tool on this knife is the reamer/punch which is used to punch holes in things such as leather, wood and other materials and in my experience i have used it to make holes in leather belts and it made easy work of this i have also used it to start of holes in wood to put a screw in which is also easy with this tool. like the can opener this tool has a sharp working edge which can be re-sharpened.
overall this tool is highly versatile, and is suitable both for an outdoors knife and an everyday carry knife. it has enough tools to be useful for both roles but it is not to big or heavy to be carried in the pocket or in a sheath i find it is fine for both methods of carrying overall if you are into the outdoors but don't want multiple knives for edc and the outdoors, etc if you want a phillips head driver get the hiker. if you want a larger locking blade get the trekker/ trailmaster. if you want something even more versatile for edc maybe the huntsman which is the same tool plus scissors.
