the victorinox has been my pocket companion in everyday life for ages and has seen a lot of use. the most used tool on the knife is the scissors which have been used to the point where the pivot is so stiff that they don't spring back any more but are still useable and get used still for cutting paper, nails, loose threads the list goes on and on they also never seem to go blunt even now they are still like two little scalpel blades.
the next tool is also one that sees a lot of use: the small blade this is also very sharp and is great for most everyday tasks that require a blade such as opening packages, sharpening pencils, etc. like all victorinox knives it comes razor sharp and stays that way for ages and the advantage of the small blade is that it is very discreet and doesn't scare people because of its size and the spear point blade it just looks like the least threatening knife you could find. its counterpart the larger blade comes just as sharp and is a great food preparation knife because of its full flat grind it slices like a champion as it happens i used it this morning to slice some mushrooms and it did it with no trouble whatsoever it can also be cleaned without worry because of its rust resistance so keeping it clean is nice and easy. the can opener also has a 3mm flat head screwdriver and is useful for phillips head screws as far as the actual can opener goes victorinox has the best designed can opener on any type of multi purpose knife although it is not as good as a proper can opener but most people aren't going to carry a can opener around, unlike some others the victorinox one has a sharp edge which can be easily maintained. at the opposite end of the knife there lives a flat head screwdriver and a bottle opener and wire stripper which is a good enough screw driver and can also be used for light duty prying, the bottle opener is also very effective and makes easy work of removing the caps from a beer. flip the knife around and you find a reamer/punch which is basically a sharp piece of metal for making holes in wood/leather/fabrics and such, if have used this tool for all of these tasks and it does very well at all of these the edge can also be maintained on this tool. next to it is a multi purpose hook which if i am honest isn't much use to me so i'm not going to say anything about this so we will move on the the corkscrew which also gets little use as most bottles have screw caps but i have used it a couple of times and unlike other penknife corkscrews is very sturdy and wont break when lifting out a cork it can also be used to get tight knots undone. to this tool i have added a micro flat head driver and a straight pin under the scales which are black and do look very smart indeed. also the tooth pick and tweesers come in handy every now and again.

overall this 3 layer tool is a useful everyday tool with enough tools to be useful in most everyday tasks but not too big to be carried in a pocket or on your belt if you prefer a phillips head buy the super tinker, if you would like the addition of a saw get the huntsman. a quality knife for everyday use or even a light duty camp knife. highly recomended

Thanks for your review :)

I really like the Climber. It´s a great knife/tool setup, indeed!

I prefer the Alox handled knives made by Vic & Wenger though... :) ... my wife always keeps a climber in the console of her car (and she´s a no-knife-person).

if they made an alox handled model with the small blade and scissors that would become my edc knife i love the looks of the alox handles

A closely-related model, the Super Tinker, was one of my favorite EDC knives for a long time. The only difference between it and the Climber is the Phillips screwdriver instead of corkscrew. Like you, I found the scissors to be the most frequently used implement. Recently, I discovered the Victorinox Yeoman, and that has finally taken over for the Super Tinker (mainly because of the orientation of the Phillips screwdriver).

This become my favorite too :)
