Just got this, so I thought I'd post a (lame) picture and a comment.

The pic is pretty much self-explanatory, and blade/tool configuration consists of the "usual suspects", but it also has a metal saw & file, which I had to try out right away to see how it worked. I had a piece of 1/4" square steel stock and it sawed through it just fine - slow, but it got through it. The file worked well. Needless to say it won't replace a hacksaw and mill or cross-cut file when they are available, but as is par for Victorinox, they perform their intended function and will get the job done in a pinch.

The saw probably won't see much use, but I think the file will be handy for taking the rough edge off things.

Update upon further examination: The saw teeth had some degradation after sawing that piece of steel (as would a hacksaw blade); and I noticed the file has a coarse side and a fine side - both of which are actually pretty fine compared to a regular shop file.

Nice, thanks for sharing. But I have to ask...Why would you take a wood saw and try and cut steel with it  Especially a brand new knife you just got. To each their own I guess.
Love your signature

Hey, I have a locksmith too, and love it! It has been my first serious knife purchase, I edc-ed it for years and still carry it in my bag. It is associated with many memories too. Nice choice! :)

It has a wood saw and a metal saw; the metal saw also has a file on each side of the "blade" - one side coarse and the other fine. ;) I'm pretty sure I could saw wood with the metal file, but no way could I saw metal with the wood file. :D

Thanks for the comment on my signature! I must say your user name leaves little doubt where your loyalties lie!

OHHH, I stand corrected. When I read your "Update upon further examination: The saw teeth had some degradation after sawing that piece of steel" I just pictured the saw teeth of the wood saw. :o :o

Looks like a great knife, enjoy !
