Can anyone tell me a sure-fire way to tell which side of the Victorinox file tool is for metal and which side is for fingernails? I have used these knives for a long time, but I can never tell the difference.

depends on how hard and thick your toenails are.

Very funny, but I still can't tell the difference between the nail file and the metal file. Can anyone help me?

I think I figured it out myself from the Vic. user manual at the Vic. website. The nail file seems to be on the same side as the fingernail groove that you use to open it. This is also the "finer" side - the side with more lines per inch. So, if this is correct, an easy way to remember it is "fingernail file on same side as fingernail groove". What do you think?
