Past few days I received the Victorinox Pioneer Alox Steel Blue Limited Edition 2015

The Pioneer, launched by Victorinox on 1957, is - essentially - the civilian version of the Soldier model 1961, with four subtle differences: 1. the logo on the scales is different; 2. it does not have the year of production stamped on the tang of the main blade; 3. on the opposite scale from that with the logo the Pioneer has a small flat area meant for engraving; 4. the Pioneer includes the keyring.

The length of the closed knife is 93mm, weight is 71 grams.

What about tools. The Pioneer has eight different function/tools:
large blade (to mm length, 2,5mm thick)
cap-lifter
large slotted screwdriver 5mm
wire-bender
can opener
small slotted screwdriver 3mm (works with Phillips screws also)
reamer/awl
keyring/split-ring attachment point

While the standard version sports Silver ribbed Alox scales, the Pioneer Alox Steel Blue Limited Edition 2015 shows beautiful scales in a particular shade of blue/gray color (Steel Blue)

The second difference is the flat area on the scale, which is engraved whit the reference year "2015"

The Pioneer Alox Steel Blue Limited Edition 2015 comes in a nice gift box, in case you want to dedicate it to someone special
