I got this knife on sale,at really good price.Pros, cons, any opinion welcome.(I liked Wenger version of this knife ,but lost it,theyre almost same)

It's a Vic, man. The pros and cons are going to be about the same as for any other SAK. I find the awl useless but the rest of it looks good.

Pioneer X Alox with scissors is even better.

Pros: It's a SAK, Pioneer is among my favorites. Very functional and perfect size in my opinion as well as very classy looking.
Cons: They come in several colors and it is easy to want them all.

There are really no cons as long as you use it within its limitations.

I like the added saw of the Farmer but honestly don't use it much. The Pioneer is a perfect daily carry knife for most folks.

The Pioneer is a good all around SAK choice. I personally go with a larger one for my regular carry chores.

Pros are many. Be it the standard Pioneer, Pioneer X, Electrician, Harvester, Farmer, Rancher ... classy and very useful tool to have on-hand, sheople-friendly.

Cons: not one-hand opening, doesn't lock if you want that sort of thing, and my favorite pocket-clip add-on has been sold-out for some time :(

The Pioneer and Cadet are the two most popular edc Vic's. Some prefer one over the other for their own reasons. I personally have Cadets because I find the file more useful than the awl in my edc.

Who makes that clip? I've never seen one of those before but that's a game changer.

chiral.grolim does a nice job on those doesn't he?!

I edc the Pioneer and find that I use the punch a lot. Of course we all have different things that need done everyday, but the awl is one of the tools that keeps a Pioneer in my pocket. I'd probably grab a Cadet if I didn't need that tool as often.

I sold or gave away every one I modded: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Alox-Models-with-Pocket-clip-Mod-7-available

I'll call the distributor again and see if their supplier intends to make any more, they've been out of stock for months and months, which sucks because the clip looks like it was specifically made for these knives!

Here's another one I clipped, but this clip isn't bead-blasted like the other and is quite a bit longer, also sits so the knife is higher in the pocket, just not quite as ideal as the other version:

Victorinox needs to come up with models that have pocket clips and G-10 & CF just like Boker did with their Tech Tool line.

I have a bunch of CRKs, Hinderers, Spydercos, and Benchmades but I will say that if I had to sell all my knives except for one it would be my Vic Alox Soldier.

I have a black Alox Pioneer, love it. I much prefer it's awl vs the nail file on the cadet. I also prefer the extra heft. Great knife

It is my favourite SAK, have carried various models over 30 years. Don't really carry the others anymore..

Pros: covered above
Cons: none
I'm very fond of all my SAKs, especially the customized ones. The red one has a saw that I'd love to get replaced with scissors like the black one has. I just never need a saw. I'd like to get scissors on the titanium one too.

The Pioneer X with its addition of the scissors is the perfect EDC for me when combined with a Vic Hunter XT-CS (the one with a corkscrew). Between the two, there's every tool I need with no duplication.
