This beautiful little SAK came in my possession recently:

SAK%252520-%252520Recruit.JPG

A Victorinox Recruit.
It's in great condition, use to be a print on the back that's worn of but all tools are like new.
I'd never seen one before, anyone know if these are rare?
Also the logo seems quite old, wonder when these were made.

thats the line from the 84mm economy series (cheaper and affordable, but still great victorinox quality)... may be from late 80's or early 90's...
that one is pretty common but now discontinued models... the eco line now would use nylon durable scale with toothpick and tweezer... still with hot stamp victorinox shield...
the hot stamp logo would wear out pretty soon, but the cellidor scale is solid ad would be pretty strong...

you're welcome buddy...

are you gonna use it or put it in your collection?

The Recruit is one of my very most favorite SAK's, maybe one of my favorite knives period! There is so much function built into this little gem it would be a shame for it to not be used. Carry it in your pocket for a few weeks and you'll wonder how you ever got along without it! I have a few of the Economy line of SAKs and they are just as stout (with the exception of the insignia) as the proper line.

I'll be used :)
All of my knives are users, probably in my pocket to work or in the car.

Yes, this is my first 2 layer 84 mm sak and it a very pocket friendly size.
And beside the logo there nothing I notice to be less quality compared to the normal line. (not based on using it yet)
