I'd really appreciate help identifying this SAK. Searched the internet for 2 days and can't find this exact model. This knife has the pre-1961 reamer so I believe it dates to the 1950's-early 60's. It looks like a Hiker but it has the early back side Phillips with file and no toothpick or tweezers. Anyone know what it is?

That's an old Hiker. The clip-point small blade was dropped in 1973, the shackle was dropped in 1969, the reamer as you say is pre-1961, so it's 1960 or earlier. This is a scan of a 1967 dealers catalog page.

Looks like tweezers/toothpick were for the 4 layer knives and not all of them.

Piso Mojado Piso Mojado thanks for posting this. I have a SAK that my wife gave me about 1975 or 1976 and the best I have ever been able to determine it is a Woodsman. This confirms it based on the tool set and positions of the tools and the lack of toothpick and tweezers. It does not have the bail (being six or seven years too late for that) and the secondary is a spear point, consistent with your information. I'd be interested to know if you have a catalog scan from the mid-70s that shows that model. Thanks!

SAKwiki.com has old Victorinox knife catalog scans here

and old Wenger knife catalog scans here.

I've seen catalog scans on different web sites, but I can't remember where just now.

In the mid-70s I thought the Recruit was the SAK. In 1979, a white collar engineer friend said "That's not a knife," and pulling a Champion from his briefcase, he smiled and said "That's a knife!"

Thank you, that's exactly what I needed!

I was able to do the same thing recently (in my "best" Australian accent, too) except in my case it was a guy with a ZT and me with my peanut. :D
